Wanted

Joe and I had an awesome time watching “Wanted” tonight.

You know how Joe watches movies? He’s a bundle of nerves during thrillers. He flinches before the people on screen do, scoots down when they check around corners, ducks when they get fired upon, writhes in his seat when someone’s being followed or when a scene goes up a long corridor or similiar scenario, and gets restless legs during tense moments.

He’s worse during horror movies, if he even decides to watch it at all.

Like tonight after we got back home, we caught the last 15 mins of the finale of CSI on TV. He actually said to me 10 minutes before the end, “Can we switch this ooooffff???” “No.” He closes his eyes (yes), covers his ears (uh-huh) and goes, “Ma mama, lala la..” (you better believe it!!)

So with that said, we had a butt-clenching, tense arms and shoulders, ducking in our seat thrilling ride at the movies today. Along with some whooping in the middle cos it was that exciting. Phew!

I wanna watch it again!

June holidays

We had a pretty awesome June holiday. Here’s some of the things we did.

Lauren started off the holiday on the last day of school with her very first field trip. She went to Jacob Ballas Garden with her school.

She also had the unfortunate honour of being our first child under the age of 6 that went for a school field trip without any of us accompanying her. It was a crazy, busy day with 2 back-to-back parent-teacher meetings for our 2 older kids. If you’ve been to one of these, you’ll know that your appointment is at the mercy of other kancheong parents who seem to have lots to discuss with the teachers. Sigh.

My mum felt so sorry to hear about her going alone (so drama la this Mama!) that she took a bus to meet the school folks there. She was just in time to meet up with a red-faced, sweaty little girl who was completely enjoying herself being in her favourite gardens with her favourite friends.

Here we are trying to spend some time at East Coast. It was crazy crowded!!! School holidays or what??

We had brekkie at Macs, the 2 little girls went cycling with my parents and the maid, Jordan played miniature golf with Joe’s Dad while Joe’s mum waited for them, and Megan, Joe and I had coffee at Starbucks Big Splash. I like it like that sometimes, when we all go do what we prefer separately, rather than force ourselves into a single activity.

More to come in the next posts…

Joe on Ellen’s show

Eh my hubby was on Ellen Degeneres’ show!!!!!!

Well, ok…. not really. But that’s his voiceover for the Osim iGallop ad! And I’m pretty sure it was his dulcet, persuasive tones that compelled her to want one :)

And now for something light-hearted…

Here’s the last of the articles, this one from Channel NewsAsia. Have a read and tell us what you think about the new pairing.

We think it will be like another Dan and Young show, another youngish feel similiar to 987FM.
