Valentine’s Day

We don’t usually celebrate Valentine’s Day. As in, we don’t make special plans for the day cos we don’t wanna get ripped off. I would get soppily frustrated when Joe got me roses especially, cos one I don’t really like fresh flowers although when I get them they’re lovely, lovely, lovely, and two cos they cost 5 times as much on this day.

I’m also more or less resigned to the fact that Joe will forget not have time to get me anything. When he does surprise me, I feel so guilty cos I haven’t bothered shopping for him either. Besides, he is REALLY difficult to buy for, he always wants or needs nothing material, or so it seems. Sometimes I feel you should just allow the other person the satisfaction though, you know? Especially if the other is a Gifts person, like me, and presents is the way I show my love. But he enjoys me just as I am, so I’m very thankful for that as well.

However…
Tomorrow we have plans!!!!!!!

We have been gifted a night’s stay at the GRAND MERCURE ROXY HOTEL on East Coast Road by the wonderful Pam aka Honeymeow and Robert her hubby. I can’t believe it!

I’ll admit to thinking it was timeshare, or to write a blog review, or what, but it was a pure and simple gift, from one fantastic family to ours. I am thrilled to death. My 2 little ones have been asking for bubble baths as they really miss the Duet. Aiyah, we all miss the Duet lah with the pool and the tub and everything else. So I was planning a hotel stay somewhere local. But also loathe to spend money you know? And then came the firing. Lagi dowan to spend money.

So it’s with great excitement that we’re checking in tomorrow. The guys at Roxy have added in an upgrade and Valentine’s Day meals and treats, so it’ll truly be a weekend to remember.

Thank you Pam and Robert. You guys don’t know how great your timing is. Tell you a secret. Joe was getting a little overwhelmed just telling Megan about it. I think he has a lot a lot on his mind, so this is a welcome respite. Our family needs this. Thank you.

Happy sighs. Here’s wishing all of you lotsa love on your Valentine’s Day too.

Happy Valentine's Day
