Before So You Think You Can Dance… There was Fame
When I was in Secondary school, my weekly fix for music and dancing was the TV series Fame.
I always wondered what it was like to be in a creative, vibrant environment like the New York City High School for the Performing Arts. I also wanted to sing, dance, act, play music, but the closest I ever got was LDDS, piano lessons and singing in the Singapore Youth Choir for couple of years. Eh, I forgot, there were years of Christmas carollings and pageants with my beloved Home Team too! Man, I love those years and miss them like mad.
Here’s my absolute fricking favourite from the show. I actually bought Season 1 from Australia just so I could watch this song over and over again. And make my family watch over and over, to much eye-rolling and fidgeting. Hey, everyone is used to So You Think You Can Dance, this is so old-fashioned!
