Unexpected Perth – Adventure Jet Boat

When we were in Fremantle in Perth, arrangements had been made for us to take the adventure jet boat. The day before we were due to ride it, the driver apparently blew up the engine. Blew. It. Up. Walau… I think it may have been cos it was Easter weekend and it was super busy and got overworked.

When we heard about it, we were disappointed. Someone from the adventure jet boat was coming in for an interview, and I think Joe suggested that he try and bring in something to compensate for our lack of ride. He was game and what a hilarious segment it turned out to be.

I can’t remember his name, but the skipper very sportingly came in the next morning for his interview with an infant-sized floaty blow up boat, complete with stickers and the rain poncho which you’re supposed to use during the ride. Petrina Kow immediately sticks her legs in and wriggles it up to her hips and struts around in it, playing with the high pitched honky air horn and declaring, “This is like one of those… bum-bum cushion things” while the rest of us howled with laughter and gripped our sides.

Here’s a crazy video of the crew

Oh Ms Kow, how I adore your silly antics!

Tower Of Terror

Here’s my favourite video of Dreamworld, Gold Coast. Petrina on the Tower of Terror. The cam was manned by Brent, our host from Tourism Australia, and he literally had it duct-taped to his hand to prevent it from flying away during the ride. Now, the Gs on this ride are pretty intense, so imagine the herculean effort it took to keep the cam steady on Petrina throughout the ride. Awesome!! Now even Dreamworld wants a copy of the video for their PR files haha!

Video courtesy of Samsung, using the HMX10 – the smallest and lightest HD camcorder. We borrowed it for the trip and it’s so easy to use, just point and press and zoom as you please. Best part is it downloads to our Mac and uploads to Youtube in a flash. Love!

It’s still in Australia with The Married Men and boy do I miss it already..
